There’s good reason why this is one of the most sought after destinations in the South Island….
…a protected National Park with no roads or residences, but an abundance of vistas, wildlife, crystal clear waters, and easy walking tracks, that you can spend just a few hours or a few days traversing, with water taxis to hop on and hop off en route as you choose. There are also guided tours by foot or kayak, with options to stay overnight in simple huts or luxury hotels. In the low season, (May – November), you can almost have the place to yourselves but still have a great chance of being in the sunshine.
Just an hour from Nelson, leave your car at Marahau or Kaiteriteri and enter a world where you can’t quite believe how many wonderful views you have to keep stopping to take in…
