The Porsche Cayenne. The Daddy SUV.

The SUV that really put the Sport into Sports Utility Vehicle...and took the utility bit out. This is a seriously luxurious performer with 4WD capability whose handling and go defies it's size. Plus you can fit 5 adults and their luggage, so you can have your cake and eat it. And the icing on the cake is this V6 version is reasonably economical too.

The vehicle that re-wrote the laws of motoring and possibly a bit of physics too...you can have a large, spacious four wheel drive that really does handle like a sports car. Unlike typical heavy SUVs, the Cayenne features direct, well-weighted steering that offers distinct road feedback. Switching from Comfort (which smooths out road imperfections like a floating carpet) to Normal or Sport tightens the suspension, reduces body roll, and sharpens throttle response.

So we haven't gone off brand - it's a Porsche sports car for the people and their luggage.

Reassuring performance, luxury and amazing views from your elevated seating position. And the V6 engine means it won't drain the tank as fast as a lot of other big SUVs, and makes it surprisingly nimble round corners.

Being a Porsche, the engineering is excellent. Our 2008 model comes with Porsche Stability Management, multiple airbags, ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), emergency brake assist, and traction control.

Excellent all round.

Many, many bags. Possibly the kitchen sink too. And there's a luggage cover for added reassurance.
