Wine, dine and recline on some lovely tours of the Marlborough region, centered around Blenheim. With more Sauvignon Blanc than you can shake a vat of grapevine sticks at, there are no less than 30 world class wineries to chose from, with many doing tours, tasting, dining or even accommodation.
It’s not just a vintners pleasure palace, there’s a large modern theatre and delights like the Marlborough Flyer offering Steam Train outings north and south, plus the sparkling sea delights and boat trips in the nearby Marlborough Sounds.
Add in a really pleasant drive from Nelson en route past the Green Mussel capital of the World, Havelock, (sample them fresh from the boat trip), and bridge over the Pelorus River, where part of The Hobbit was filmed, and you’ve got some wonderful days out. We recommend you visit the Love Marlborough website to plan your escape.
