Had the pleasure of Stephen picking my son and I from Maruia River Retreat and taking us to Nelson airport. We got the chance to ride in an Alfa Brera, a model not available in the U.S. It's such a cool and peppy car with excellent handling. The special treat was that we switched cars midway through the trip and got the chance to enjoy top down weather! The views were breathtaking 😃 My pictures do not do justice to the scenery of such a lovely drive. I enjoyed Stephen's company and conversation during the drive. I'm already planning a trip back and hope to drive this time!

Really fantastic experience with rent a classsic. We changed plans and vehicles at the late notice and were accommodated with no qualms at all. Pickup was super easy and the car was in fantastic condition and we had a great weekend with the car. Highly recommend!

Thanks for a fantastic experience hiring the Alfa Spider over Easter weekend. I hired this for my partner as a birthday gift during our time visiting family in Nelson. As a car fanatic he was highly impressed and is already talking about which car to hire next time. Stephen was very communicative, organised and knowledgeable. You can tell he has alot of care and love for these cars, and wants others to enjoy them just as much. Sounds like we'll be back!

The booking process with Stephen is very straightforward, including very helpful recommendations of fun routes for a day trip. This resulted in a fantastic day out in a beautiful 1975 Alfa Spider. The car ran faultlessly and was a joy to drive all day. Highly recommended, especially if you fancy trying out a classic car without the hassles of long term ownership.

A fantastic way to see the South Island. We rented the 1993 Alfa Romeo Spider S4 and it was wonderful. A lovely car in fantastic condition which drove wonderfully and had so many appreciative looks and comments we felt almost embarrassed! Plenty of room for luggage but at 190cm and 100kg I'd say I was at the limit of size for this car although it didn't detract from the thrill and enjoyment one bit.
Highly recommended if you want to travel around in something much more interesting than the normal hire car fare.

Absolutely recommending services from Rent a classic. Very professional car hire service having classic cars.

We had hired a mini convertible from Auckland and had the best of experiences without any hassle. They seem to have a variety of classic cars in both north and south islands.

Just completed a grand tour of the South Island of New Zealand in the Lexus SC340.
Great fun driving with the top down, cruising with comfort and style.

The staff at RentAClassic were very nice and showed me how all of the car control worked.

What a fantastic car and great service! We were picking up and dropping off at unusual hours and they had a really slick routine for accommodating our times. Having a convertible for the trip around the South Island (two weeks) really made it something special. I'd recommend these guys to anyone who likes to drive with the wind in their hair.

3 week tour of NZ enhanced by driving a classic Saab convertible

We hired the Saab convertible for 3 weeks to use in a self drive tour group (organised by a UK based company). We found the Saab to be comfortable, reliable, and quite fast enough for the NZ road network. Having a manual gearbox, it needs to be driven to its strengths, but we quickly got used to this. After about 2500 miles we were still enjoying it...
It is not a car for 4 people plus luggage, but for the 2 of us it was perfect.
We found Rent-a-classic easy to deal with and email support during the hire period was prompt and reassuring. Returning the car at the end of our 3 week journey was straightforward and we had no issues.

Richard and Stephen were lovely, and the whole process was seamless and friendly. The Lexus was a treat. If you're looking to treat yourself for a weekend, grab one of their convertibles and hit the road. Now convincing my wife we need a convertible.

I was the lucky last renter of the Saab 93 before it being moved on to a new owner. Picking up and dropping off the car was incredibly easy, Richard was very amiable and a fellow chatty petrol-head, so zero complaints. As for the experience as a whole I can't recommend it enough. This car was a highlight of our trip to Hanmer Springs and provided so much joy a sunny day with the top down. A rental Toyota may have had more space and been a tiny bit more comfortable but it would have made getting from A to B just another chore. With Rentaclassic I went driving just for the sake of it!

The pick up and drop off was smooth and friendly. Had the Lexus S430 which cruised along happily, Having the electric hardtop made switching between open top and closed effortless. Really made the traveling a great part of the trip.
